VT-100 deserves its reputation as Vermont's "must-do" road for motorcyclists. One Hundred is scenic, has a enough curves, sweepers, and straights to provide excitement, and offers good roadside stops and views. But VT-100's strength is also its greatest weakness. Because it offers so much, the road draws a high volume of car traffic, especially on summer weekends and during the fall foliage season.
There are alternatives to the mini-van bumper follow-along of a VT-100 Saturday afternoon. Vermont routes 12, 14 and 110 offer north-south routes that can provide a more refreshing experience and offer riders new interests. These roads can be combined with VT-100 or each other to create loops that are varied, fun and unique.
