The Bridge Street bridge in Richmond was closed the first week in September and will remain closed until the State and town officials can find a contractor to make a temporary repairs on the bridge. The bridge had previously been reduce to a single lane of traffic when State engineers found it unsafe for two lanes of traffic. A recent inspection found that some bridge steel had detioriated to 50 percent of its original thickness and that the bridge was no completely unsafe for traffic. While early reports had the bridge out of commission for possibly a week, it now looks like it will take considerably longer to make the repairs.

Riders seeking an alternate route can take Cochran Rd. For more see this article in the Burlington Free Press.
