VT-100a: Off the Beaten Path

Estimated Mileage: 7 miles Estimated Time: 14 mins

If you're South of Killington, heading North on VT-100 and headed for US-4, consider detouring onto VT-100a to cut-off the corner. VT-100a a is nice rolling, twisty road that links VT-100 and US-4 at Bridgewater corners. This sleepy road is uncluttered and has little traffic.

For cruiser riders, the road is shady and relaxing winding through large trees and woods. For sport riders, the low traffic count, frequent corners and good pavement provide the fun. (NOTE: The pavement was redone in 2010, but Tropical Storm Irene flooding damaged the road in 2011. We have not had a chance to scout this road since Irene).

Your reward at roads end: the Long Trail brewery is at the intersections of VT-100a and US-4 at Bridgewater Corners (always ride responsibly, please! Buy your brew and bring it home to enjoy).
